Client: BruMar Gardens

Situation:   BruMar Gardens, an independent earth minded garden center, had been in business six years in an affluent area of Annapolis, MD. While the business had grown the owners felt that sales were leveling off, and they weren't reaching much of the market with the weekly newspaper advertising they had been using.

Solution: Immediately, Solutions Marketing did a market study within a 5 mile radius of the business to see the potential market and understand the demographics of the area. A mail list was acquired of an income of $100,000+ with consumers having a gardening interest.

An upscale, clean look was developed as a branding image for BruMar Gardens based on discussions with the owners and the income/lifestyle information obtained in the market study. A loyalty program was developed to begin rewarding current customers. Client: Pet Food Direct

Situation:   Pet Food Direct wanted to get current customers to visit their online pet food and supply store more frequently.

Solution: SMA designed an icon of a group of animals hovering around their computer "planning their next purchase." This humorous approach was used as the front of two postcards to be used as bounce back promotion. A $5 off and 10% off coupon were the offers on the back. The postcard coupons were then dropped into boxes of outgoing orders to catch the eye of their customer and encourage the next sale.

Client: The Walden School

Situation:   The Walden School was kicking off a capital campaign to build a multi-purpose building providing students with a new gym, art room, stage, music room, kitchen, restrooms, and open lobby display area.

Solution: A new logo and slogan were created to celebrate the past history of this private, Montessori school and highlight the new experiences the building would offer.

The logo was designed with different colors and sizes of children to symbolize the diversity of the school population and bring to attention teh pre-school, elementary and middle school education offered. The graduated size placement of children also conveyed growth of the child. Each figure represents an activity thechild will enjoy in the new facility. The brick background was used to convey the building. The slogan "Building on the Walden Experience" completes the logo, tying in the current rich education experience the Walden School offers and the promise of an expanded education opportunity proveded by the new building. After this important identity was crated, the other marketing pieces fell into place.

Client: Paula Kearney Dance Studio

Situation:   Paula Kearney Dance Studio began to notice that traditional newspaper ads were no longer bringing in new customers. Solutions Marketing Associates identified this business’ target audience, girls between the ages of 3 and 15 within 5 miles of the studio, and purchased a mailing list with these demographics for households with a $50,000 income and above. Although it was the middle of the season, a postcard mailer with a new, fresh image was sent out in late December to attract new customers for the upcoming spring recital season. The postcard was a big success, bringing in more students that imagined which more than paid for the promotion. Later, a tri-fold mailer and another series of postcards were developed to target potential customers as well as retain current dance families.

Client: Pets Plus

Situation:   Pets Plus, a Philadelphia-based, independently-owned pet store with 10 locations in the PA & NJ area saw declines in sales generated by the use of traditional circular inserts in local newspapers. A fresh marketing image was also desired. After trying a couple of postcard mailings, the owners were pleased with the results.

A new clean, fun look was developed by Solutions Marketing Group to compliment and reinforce the company's slogan “Own a Pet, Live Better”. A customer list, generated from eight established stores, and purchased list, based on income & pet ownership from 2 newly opened stores, provided a great tool to encourage customer loyalty. A monthly postcard program was developed. Various seasonal themes & holidays were used for a fun, fresh, family-oriented marketing message.
